Wedding Rings– The Most Important Purchase You Will Ever Make

Wedding rings are the most important purchase that you will ever make in your lifetime. These rings are the material symbols of your love and devotion to one another. This and the fact that you are going to have to look at them for the rest of your life should be enough to make you realize that you need to find the perfect rings for you and your partner. You should choose rings that are timeless in their design so that you will not ever tire of them. If you get something trendy or too flashy you may grow out of them so to speak and that would be a shame. Choose something hat makes you happy just to look at, a ring that speaks to you. Finding the right rings should be based a lot on instinct, what feels right to the two of you. And while wedding rings do not need to match most couples do prefer theirs to have at least some similarities.

Wedding rings can be made out of almost any metal that you want. Generally people choose the metal that their engagement ring is made out of so that they match and both can be worn at the same time even if not on the same hand. One good way to decide on the metal is by thinking about the rest of your jewelry. Is the majority of it white gold? ID so that may be a good way to choose. If your ring matches most of your other jewelry that means that you will be able to wear everything together and match perfectly. Yellow gold is the most traditional of ring metals. It is warm and beautiful and it compliments almost any skin tone. If you work with your hands on a regular basis you should not choose 24k gold because it is the softest and the most likely to sustain damage while you are at work. You should not have a problem with 14k or 18k gold. White gold is another popular choice. People like it because it can be worn easily with both silver and platinum jewelry. Platinum is the most expensive metal and the hardest. It is the perfect metal to symbolize enduring and everlasting love.

Tattooed wedding rings are something that has caught on in the last few years and they are a matter of personal taste. But, as I mentioned previously your wedding rings should be something that you want to look at for the rest of your life and many people grow out of their tattoos. Tattoo removal is not all that reliable so if your marriage did end you could find yourself stuck with the ring forever anyway. Choosing the wedding ring to symbolize your love and commitment is a decision that the loving couple should make together. Talk about what kind of jewelry you like and what you always thought your wedding rings would look like. That should be enough to get the ball rolling and the creative juices flowing.

The exact origin of the wedding ring is uncertain and is rife with superstition and mythology. Papyruses dating back to the ancient Egyptian civilization depict wedding rings, and historians credit the land of the Pharaohs with originating this tradition. Engagement or betrothal rings were in use as far back as prehistoric times, but the wedding ring is a relatively new tradition, and unlike the engagement ring, is steeped in religious ritual...
